Sony has been taking out walkman versions of almost all its P series phones these days. It started with the M600i which lead to W950i and now the P1i has lead to W960i. Overall there is almost no difference between these two phones except W960i comes with 8Gb of storage and the music player is walkman 3.0 with exceptionally good visualizations.

Overall the phone is a lesser version of the p1, this happened with the W950i too. The phone comes in velvet black color. The colour looks good, but the plastics used in the phone tend to catch greasy stains very easily which is happening with almost all the phones these days. We however wish that Sony could use, the plastics in the same way it did in z750i, this would have surely been much better.

Coming to the features of the phone, it runs on Symbian OS 9.1 with UiQ 3.0 with 128MB RAM and 256 ROM out of which 169MB is available to the user. The internal memory is hefty 8GB which is sufficient enough to store 5 hours worth of music in library. The mobile device features a 2.6 inches touch screen which is protected by a covered plastic layer. Though this is a good feature, it reduces the brightness of the display.

Sony has not paid attention in the minute details of the phone which is seen from the extremely poor quality all plastic stylus they are providing with the mobile. The interface gets a bit slow when the internal drive starts to get full with data due to a less powerful 220mhz processor used to run this monster, but by any means it is able to match the agility of the interface of the s60 phones.

The major plus points of this phone are that it has all the features of the P series phones with the same intuitive interface while sporting the colors of the new walkman series phones. It is by no means is lacking any features. But the only things we wish from Sony for this handset are that they could have crafted it in a lot better way than this.
